The basic strategy of the SPIN (Small Plot INtensive) Farming method is to utilize a collection of urban yard spaces---we are using 24 different backyard gardens this year---to garner a workable, productive amount of acreage. By using intensive growing techniques of successive crop growth and rotation, we can maximize the productivity of even small plots of land, the produce of which we then sell to others in our community at local farmers' markets and restaurants.
